A twelve-mineral tablet in which each mineral is declared by its elemental content and its salt or chelate form. The formulation is fixed by the buyer's label: the elemental figures, the salt forms and the overage are agreed before the batch, because a mineral blend cannot be adjusted after compression without changing the tablet weight.
The default tablet is film-coated, with microcrystalline cellulose and a small amount of stearic acid. Chelated and amino-acid-bound forms are used where the formula calls for them; the COA reports each mineral by ICP-OES or ICP-MS.
| Format | Size | Shell / coating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tablet | 1000 mg (common) | Film-coated; MCC, stearic acid, croscarmellose | Daily retail bottle |
| Tablet | Custom weight | Film-coated; MCC, stearic acid, croscarmellose | Smaller tablet or higher mineral load |
| Bulk blend | 25 kg | Food-grade liner | Contract tableting and blending |
Mineral blends are bulky and abrasive. The first decision is elemental content versus salt weight: 1000 mg of calcium citrate does not deliver 1000 mg of calcium, and a label that mixes the two is a recall risk. The second is overage: some minerals lose potency on storage, so the formula may carry a small excess to stay inside the label claim at the end of shelf life.
The minerals also interact. Calcium and magnesium compete for absorption; iron changes colour and taste; zinc and copper need a ratio. These are formulation decisions, not label decoration. The tablet weight is fixed by the sum of the elemental doses and the excipients, so the label is agreed before compression.
Each mineral is assayed by ICP-OES or ICP-MS. Tablet weight, hardness, friability and disintegration are tested per batch; moisture and microbiology are tested to the destination market's limits. Mottling and colour variation are checked visually against a retention sample.
Send the mineral list with the elemental amount and the salt form for each, the tablet weight, the coating and the market. The most common mistake is to compare quotations on salt weight instead of elemental content; the second is to leave the overage out of the specification and then fail the label claim at the end of shelf life.
The mineral blend is sold here as a food ingredient. No disease or therapeutic claims are made or implied. The brand owner is responsible for the label, the elemental claims and the permitted statements in the destination market.
