A combination tablet: purified shilajit extract and standardised ashwagandha root extract, with both actives declared on the COA. Combination products are where specifications usually blur, so the fulvic acid figure and the withanolide figure are fixed separately, and the tablet's disintegration is tested rather than assumed.
The default tablet is film-coated to manage the shilajit taste and moisture pickup. The ashwagandha fraction is usually the larger one by weight; the shilajit fraction is the more variable input and carries the heavier heavy-metal risk, so it is tested per batch.
| Format | Size | Shell / coating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tablet | 750 mg (common) | Film-coated; MCC, croscarmellose, magnesium stearate | Daily retail bottle |
| Tablet | 500 mg | Film-coated; MCC, croscarmellose, magnesium stearate | Smaller tablet for higher daily counts |
| Tablet | 1000 mg | Film-coated; MCC, croscarmellose, magnesium stearate | Higher-dose private label |
Two powders with different behaviour go into one tablet. Shilajit is hygroscopic, dark and strongly flavoured; ashwagandha root extract is a lighter powder with a characteristic taste. The film coat manages both, but the compression force has to be set so the tablet passes disintegration without capping.
The specification has to state the weight fraction of each extract, not only the two marker figures. A tablet that is 80% ashwagandha and 20% shilajit is a different product from a 50:50 blend, even if both labels say 'shilajit and ashwagandha'. The COA reports each marker separately, and the heavy-metal panel is driven by the shilajit fraction.
Fulvic acid and withanolides are assayed by their respective methods; heavy metals by ICP-MS; moisture, plate count and disintegration are tested per batch. The tablet is checked for weight, hardness, friability and coating uniformity.
Send the two marker figures, the weight fraction of each extract, the tablet weight, the coating and the market. The most common mistake is to specify only 'shilajit and ashwagandha' without the two assays; the second is to fix the tablet weight before the two extract fractions are known.
Shilajit and ashwagandha are sold here as food ingredients. No disease or therapeutic claims are made or implied. Both ingredients are restricted or regulated in some markets; the brand owner is responsible for the import status and the label in the destination market.
